In South Carolina, an unfortunate poor chap learned the hard lesson of it not being a good idea to rob anyone living in the South where guns are just as much a part of the culture as going to church on Sunday morning.

The State reported that a 26 year-old man was killed while trying to rob Orlando Brown, who’s confined to a wheelchair, in his home.

According to the State, Brown was shot once and the robber was shot multiple times. Charlie Boseman, chief deputy coroner for Anderson County, told the State that the 26 year-old man died on the scene.

The State reported that Brown was taken to a local hospital, and that the doctors performed surgery on the wounds he sustained. Due to Brown’s wounds not being life threatening, he is expected to make a full recovery.
